The department was established in the academic year 2024-2025. Its objectives focus on being an innovative, pioneering, and effective department in preparing specialized national cadres in cybersecurity and supplying the Iraqi labor market with technically qualified personnel in the field of cybersecurity technology engineering and cloud computing. These professionals will contribute to the development and service of the local community and provide scientific and technical consultations in the field of cybersecurity and infrastructure for information technology departments across various governmental and private sectors. The department aims to design and build scalable, secure, and robust security systems, in addition to qualifying graduates to work on data center systems and networks, and assist institutions in understanding advanced cyber threats and creating strategies to protect their networks.
